Cable monitoring alarm device

The problem:

Newspapers are now repeatedly reporting the theft of copper. Copper thieves are getting bolder all the time. Energised cables are stripped and the wires individually severed. In particular the feed lines to dredgers and gravel plant conveyor belts are coveted, and are very expensive to replace.

The solution:

With the "KÜWAG" cable monitoring alarm device, Klotter Electrical Engineering offers a solution which is cost-effective, simple and quick to install, and can be extended according to customer requirements. It is a pre-installed monitoring unit in a switching cabinet housing.

Device description und function:

  • Continuously monitors the feed line of one or more 3-phase motors. Monitors up to 5 cables!
  • The device can be connected directly to the power distribution unit, which supplies power to the device.
  • If the feed line to the power distribution unit is cut, an integrated battery module takes over the power supply to the device.
  • Alarm message via SMS. A text message can be sent simultaneously or consecutively to several recipients.
  • Activation or deactivation of the device via a key-operated switch or an SMS message sent to the device.
  • Digital outputs. Warning lamps and an audible warning system can be connected to the switching cabinet. The power supply to the additional devices is also provided by the integrated battery module if the power distribution unit supply cable is cut.
